Full service interior design
We are more than just an interior design studio—
We’re storytellers and creators of timeless, impactful interiors that evolve with every season of life.
My mission is simple: to inspire, transform, and enrich lives through the art of interior design. I achieve this by designing environments that evoke joy, connection, and a sense of belonging. Your home tells your story, so let’s write it together!
Based in the Washington DC metro area; working with clients from coast to coast (and remotely!)

My design mantra is simple:
Your home should be an authentic reflection of who you are and what you value.
It should tell your story. Just like the changing seasons, spaces and needs evolve over time, and I’m here to make sure your home evolves with you. I use elements of nature —the colors and textures –in my designs, connecting your space with the grounding elements of the world around us. I believe every home has a soul, waiting to be discovered and brought to life.
Let’s get personal.
I believe that authenticity and vulnerability are key for any strong relationship.
Home has always been at the center of my work. For nearly 15 years, I was a clinical social worker, helping foster youth return home, assisting unsheltered individuals find a home, and now, as an interior designer, helping clients create a home. One thing is clear to me: our home environments profoundly impact our wellbeing.
I believe that interior design is more than just creating beautiful spaces—it's about creating environments that evoke emotion, provide comfort, and foster connection. With a background in social work, my approach is grounded in creating a sense of belonging, and prioritizing the emotional well-being and safety that each space can bring.
My mother, Karen Lannan Wetherell, passed away unexpectedly at the start of the pandemic in 2020. For anyone who has lost a parent, it is one of the most challenging experiences and journeys. The loss of my mother, the pandemic, and my career as a social worker gave me pause to think about the next chapter of my life. I kept coming back to this idea of home – creating home, building community, and finding joy.
With that reflection, I made the leap into a second career of interior design. My mother was an interior designer and kitchen and bath specialist. I grew up going to construction sites, furniture showrooms, and textile shops. Seasons 4 Design was the name of my mom’s company. And today I carry my mom with me everyday through the continuation of her career with Seasons for Design.

Our Values
Personalized Connection
I believe every home should be an authentic reflection of the people who live in it. While I may have a few design favorites, I’m fully committed to ensuring each project embodies the families and individuals who will live, work, or play there.
My process is rooted in listening, understanding, and collaborating closely with clients to craft spaces that genuinely reflect their personality, needs, and dreams.
Warmth and Comfort
Every space I design is infused with warmth and comfort, creating an inviting atmosphere that fosters connection and relaxation. My goal is for everyone to feel at home in a Seasons for Design project.
I create spaces that feel collected and lived-in, with an approachable comfort—you’ll never find a room that feels too precious to use. Environments are meant to be enjoyed and lived in, and I design each space to welcome you in.
Timeless
I prioritize timelessness over trends. My designs blend classic elements with modern, quirky touches to keep spaces feeling fresh and inviting for years to come.
Balancing familiar aesthetics with bold choices, I encourage clients to embrace unique, unexpected elements that elevate their spaces. Lean into the scary—it often becomes the best part of a design. I’ll be there with you every step, creating something extraordinary together.
Building Bridges Through Design and Diversity
I believe in leaving a legacy of making the world a kinder and more accepting place for all—and we truly mean that. Seasons for Design prioritizes inclusion and diversity in all areas: race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, ability, neurodiversity, and socioeconomic status. This commitment extends not only to the clients we work with but also to the vendors we partner with, the nonprofits we support through our pro bono work and volunteer hours, and the talented trades we collaborate with. Like Gandhi’s famous quote, we strive to be the change we wish to see in the world. I hope you will join me in this.
